Great news, the National Solar School Program (NSSP) is open until the 30th of September, 2011!
While there are some changes including to the grant claim form, most of the same criteria still apply.
However, the selection of grant recipients will be based more upon merit and value for money.
So you don’t need to rush your application, rather you need to make sure you can prove that your installation is going to be better than other schools.
In the previous rounds, many schools did not get monitoring systems and educational outcomes as required. An audit of these schools could require repayment of the grant or for the school or solar supplier to pay to rectify the problems.
All of our schools have excellent monitoring systems that exceed the minimum requirements, public web sites and internal access to the information for integration into their curriculum.
We also did presentations to school assemblies, parent groups and staff meetings after the systems were up and running.

So when you write your application, you should be able to point to these types of web sites to show what your supplier is going to do for you.
Make sure if you get quotes from other suppliers, they can show you the schools they have done that have fully working systems.
